ULI Case Studies Feature Vancouver Projects

Two Vancouver developments are the subject of new Case Studies from ULI. The Woodward’s redevelopment project is a residential-driven mixed-use project on a historic site that has transformed and revitalized an important but troubled neighborhood in downtown Vancouver. The Rise is an urban infill, residential-over-retail building located next to downtown Vancouver, British Columbia. Quality of Infrastructure Is Key to Real Estate Development Decisions

The quality of infrastructure systems—including transportation, utilities, and telecommunications—is the most important factor influencing real estate investment and development decisions in cities around the world, according to a survey of public sector and private sector leaders conducted by the Urban Land Institute and EY. A team of graduate students representing the University of Maryland took top honours at the 2014 ULI Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition with its winning plan to redevelop a Nashville neighborhood as a healthy community. An ideas competition, the ULI Hines program is designed to simulate an actual urban design and development scenario.
