On October 12, 2016, participants in ULI Toronto’s mentorship program gathered for a networking social held at a classic cocktail lounge at the foot of Church Street.
The venue was D.W. Alexander, a speakeasy nestled away in the basement of a historic brick warehouse, which provided the perfect atmosphere for the group of around 20 attendees to mix and mingle, as all took part in a few rounds of drinks, delicious food, and good company.
Through the generous sponsorship of SGL Planning & Design Inc., the event gave mentors and mentees the occasion to catch up after work in a relaxed social environment, as well as the opportunity to meet other professionals outside their mentorship pairs.
The professional diversity of participants — one of the key strengths of ULI Toronto’s mentorship program — was also evident, as planners, architects, lawyers, and other industry professionals shared stories and conversation, all in the spirit of mutual learning characteristic of the mentorship program. As the evening drew to a close, participants were able to leave with a renewed sense of energy, inspired by the insights gained and the connections made.
