Our mission at ULI Toronto is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. Yet the voices of racialized, marginalized and equity-seeking communities have been and remain largely excluded or overlooked in the city building process. So, we invite you to join us on a journey of learning, understanding and exploring how we can start dismantling systemic barriers in our industry and start building a more equitable, diverse and inclusive city for all.
During the week of January 4-8, 2021, we will share daily articles, videos or audio clips that we hope will start the conversation by inspiring, challenging, teaching and motivating you to reflect and think about how we can each individually and collectively start working in ways that are more inclusive, equitable and respectful of our diversity.
Please take some time each day to participate in the challenge, and then join us at a Virtual Happy Hour on Friday, January 8, 2021 to share your reflections and thoughts on what you learned and your ideas on possible next steps!
If you haven’t already, please take 7-8 minutes to fill out ULI Toronto’s Demographic and Professional Experience Survey by January 8, 2021. The survey’s goal is to better understand the composition of our membership and your experiences with equity, diversity & inclusion in the real estate and development industry. The survey results will be used as important benchmarks to measure our progress and to inform new programming and initiatives that can help ULI Toronto support and promote change.
