2019 ULI Hines Student Competition

In its 17th year, the ULI Hines Student Competition—the annual urban design and development competition sponsored by legendary developer Gerald D. Hines—offers students in real estate, business, architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning the opportunity to form multidisciplinary teams to solve a design and finance problem. In addition to valuable feedback from senior ULI members, the winning team receives $50,000 and the finalist teams receive $10,000 each.           The ULI Hines Student Competition—entering now its 16th year—offers graduate students the opportunity to form their own multidisciplinary teams and engage in a challenging exercise in responsible land use. Since 2002, the ULI Hines Student Competition has challenged students to collaborate across disciplines and imagine a better built environment. 2014 Hines Competition Winner – University of Maryland

A team of graduate students representing the University of Maryland took top honours at the 2014 ULI Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition with its winning plan to redevelop a Nashville neighborhood as a healthy community. An ideas competition, the ULI Hines program is designed to simulate an actual urban design and development scenario.
