Walk through downtown Toronto and you’ll see indie coffee bars, boutique gyms and mens’ barber shops popping up on every corner and… baby strollers!  Yep… baby strollers!

There’s a baby boom happening in downtown Toronto, and the City of Toronto’s new “Growing Up: Planning for Children in New Vertical Communities” Guidelines hope to keep them living downtown.  But what are the benefits and challenges of having more families downtown?  Is the City really ready and serious about accommodating the needs of downtown families?  How will this change the face of downtown neighbourhoods?  How will developers, designers & architects address the design and function of these new family units?

Join our panel of developers, urban designers, policy planners and urban families as they discuss and debate how these new policies will impact future developments.

Moderator:

Ara Mamourian, Property.ca
