Jeroen van der Toolen is an acknowledged expert in the field of commercial and residential real estate. Currently the head of Ghelamco in the CEE region. He joined Ghelamco in 2003 as a Managing Director for Poland and 3 years later was appointed Managing Director for CEE. Since 2006 Ghelamco has grown threefold. He brought bold vision and innovative strategy to company’s operations and expanded Ghelamco’s field of activity to new market sectors. As a provider of modern business space Ghelamco reached a position of a market leader with over 1 million square meters delivered up to date, and the value of sold projects exceeding 1.2 billion EUR. Andrei Ivan is an experienced professional in commercial development and sustainability who joined Skanska Romania team in 2015, as a Project Leader. With over 13 years within the industry, Andrei held different positions related to managing sustainable commercial projects. Since February 2020 he is Sustainability and Innovations Director at Skanska Commercial Development Europe, position in which he contributes even more towards Skanska’s mission to build for a better society. He truly believes in the role his industry has in the development of green cities and a sustainable future. Either he supported the development of the Skanska Group sustainability strategy, contributed to the review of health and safety standards, or he promoted innovations and digital solutions, Andrei has an increased focus on sustainable solutions bringing added value to our customers. The latest years in Skanska gave him a global perspective, being involved in diverse projects with positive impact for communities. With his new role, he continues the good work inside the business unit and takes further the sustainability & innovations projects. Mette Skjold is partner and CEO of SLA and has more than 15 years of experience in sustainable urban planning and architecture, solving some of today’s hardest urban problems. Thus, Mette has a deep understanding of creating high quality, green public spaces to improve the public health and stimulate social interactions - while helping urban challenges regarding climate, sustainability, economy and social diversity. As a landscape architect, Martin has led multi-disciplinary teams on complex urban projects in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He is the 2016 recipient of the President’s Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and his projects at W Architecture have received dozens of design awards in North America. He is a Fulbright Scholar and a Fellow with the Design Trust for Public Space in New York.

Mateusz Grabiec is an expert specializing in real estate transactions and infrastructure projects as well as administrative law matters, including legislation and public contracting matters. Dan has become known for his pioneering work and leadership to mentor many in how to transform communities into places for people first; all while still accommodating the car, and not the other way around. In this new role as the Director of Innovation and Implementation, Dan oversees many additional community-built environment transitions, making dozens, and eventually hundreds of communities healthier, more active places to live. Dan has always been a pioneer in his work, staying up on holistic trends in transportation and land use, and becoming a sought-after master of implementing change. In 1980, staff for Governor Bob Graham, chose Dan to help transform the Florida Department of Transportation, which made it one of the first multi-modal transportation agencies in the nation. As early as 1991, well before the term complete streets was coined, Florida became known for its holistic look at street making, helping create place out of space. Dan pushed for change, and became the nation’s first full time pedestrian and bicycle coordinator, a position now required in all 50 states. At the age of 60 Dan broadened his skill sets, embracing urban design and land use while serving as a principal and senior urban designer with the community-planning firm Glatting Jackson (from 2005-2009). Dan currently serves as an advisor for several national organizations, including: Walkscore (www.walkscore.com). Dan’s efforts to get the world “back on its feet” earned him the two of the first-ever awarded lifetime-achievement awards. The first was issued by the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals. The second was issued by the New Partners for Smart Growth. The League of American Bicyclists named Dan as “one of the 25 most significant leaders in bicycling for the past 100 years.” In a peer driven process Planetizen Magazine ranks Dan as one of the 100 most significant urban thinkers of all time. Time magazine in 2001 named Dan as one of the six most important civic innovators in the world. And that same year the Transportation Research Board (National Academy of Sciences) honored Dan by making him their Distinguished Lecturer for that year. In 2014 the White House honored Dan as a “Champion of Change for Transportation”. Dan pioneers change in fields he helped create. He has more than 40 years of experience helping create livable communities. Dan served for 16 years as the first State Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator for the Florida Dept. of Transportation. This program became a model for other state programs, and in 1991 launched one of the nation’s first and most successful complete streets programs. Dan and his wife, Lys, co-founded Walkable Communities in 1996. Since then, he has helped more than 4,700 communities throughout the world become more livable and walkable.

Lina Liakou leads the resilience practice in Europe and the Middle East for the Global Resilient Cities Network pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation (formerly 100RC), working with the 21 member cities across the region in developing their resilience thinking through long term City Resilience Strategies and actionable initiatives. Before joining the Network, Lina was Deputy Mayor and Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Thessaloniki, Greece. As a Deputy Mayor, Lina Liakou initiated collaborations with the European Commission, the EIB and the World Bank. Prior to this, Lina was Chief Executive of the Metropolitan Development Agency of Thessaloniki, an intermunicipal company that coordinates national and international research projects. Lina Liakou is an architect and urban designer from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London and a Marshall Memorial Fellow (2015) of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

Raimund Paetzmann is VP Corporate Real Estate at Zalando SE in Berlin and focuses on Logistic, Portfolio Management, Construction & Architecture, New Work, Building Operation as well as all building related employee services like Security Management or Office Management. He joined Zalando in 2017 to drive growth of the Corporate Real Estate business within and outside of Zalando. Previously to joining Zalando he built and led the Amazon EMEA real estate team, which was involved in the strategic network planning and design of the European Fulfillment Network. He built the most advanced e-commerce logistics network in Europe and contributed significantly to the new generation of European Fulfillment Centres. Since June 2018, he has also been Deputy Chairman of the Logistics Real Estate Committee of the German Property Federation.

Roelof Opperman is a Managing Director on the Real Estate Technology Investment team at Fifth Wall, where he focuses on technology and innovations within the multifamily, office, and hospitality real estate asset classes. Roelof has led Fifth Wall’s investments in Lyric, Eden, Appear Here, Hippo, Industrious, Loggi, Recharge, Lime, and Aurora Solar. Previously, Roelof worked at Norwest Venture Partners, Evercore Partners, Goldman Sachs, and Bridgewater Associates. Roelof is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, from Emory University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Architect and Director Gideon Maasland (1978, Sliedrecht, the Netherlands) was educated at the Technical University Delft. He has more than 15 years of experience as an architect and joined MVRDV in 2016, where he specialised in the transformation of concepts into buildings. He leads MVRDV’s department for large scale, complex buildings in the Netherlands and abroad. As a Director, Maasland oversees all the projects in his studio. With his hands-on work method, he is directly involved in the construction of multiple projects, making sure that the expectations for a design are maintained until the building is complete. Currently he coordinates different Dutch projects: the construction of Valley, a 75.000 m2 multifunctional building in the business district of Amsterdam, the construction of two Grotius towers, a 61.800 m2 residential project in the Hague, and the transformation of Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, a trade fair of 170.000m2. Besides this, Maasland is working on several projects in Eindhoven, Poland and the UK. Prior to joining MVRDV, Gideon worked at DKV architecten, KCAP and Erick van Egeraat. Why did Maasland choose to work for MVRDV? “Because within MVRDV we create new types of buildings that more courageous, more critical, more human, more innovative, more contextual, more transparent, more curious, more sustainable, more adaptive, and more social than others.”

Sara Anzinger is Measurabl’s Senior Vice President of Capital Markets. Before joining Measurabl, Sara drove the development and implementation of Fitch Ratings' Sustainable Finance initiative in the Americas, and served as Managing Director of Real Estate Debt and Fixed Income at GRESB. Sara has worked for Royal Bank of Canada and PNC Bank and spent much of her career in commercial real estate banking and structured finance. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Rollins College and an MSc in International Finance from the University of Amsterdam.

After studying economics at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, Marnix began his professional career in 1987 at Cegos Belgium as a consultant. In 1989, he took his first steps in the real estate sector (family portfolio). His own company ALLFIN (°2001) became one of the leading real estate developers in Belgium. In 2014, ALLFIN Group took a 29% stake in Immobel, listed on Euronext since 1863. Following the merger between ALLFIN Group and Immobel in 2016, he became its Executive Chairman. Marnix was Chairman of Urban Land Institute Belgium (2015-2018) and is a director, member and trustee of several leading European and American associations.

As the leader of SOM’s City Design Practice in London, Dan directs projects which focus on the urban transformation of our cities. He also guides the urban strategy of many architectural projects in the London office. Collaborating closely within a multi-disciplinary team, he is able to guide the development of city designs with the client and specialist consultants. Dan Ringelstein brings a unique perspective to his many accomplishments in urban environments around the world. As an architect, urban designer and city planner, he is interested in the physical characteristics of a place and how planning, urban design, infrastructure and architecture can create a positive public environment. This is evident in the strong role he has played in realising complex projects of significant magnitude through collaborative planning, implementation and delivery. Dan has extensive experience working across differing cultures and contexts throughout the world. His urban design and planning skills include a strong ability to work in concert with regional authorities, city officials, public and private institutions, developers, specialist consultants and individual communities to deliver long-term visions.

Billy Grayson is the Executive Director for the Center for Sustainability and Economic Performance at the Urban Land Institute, a nonprofit education and research organization that focuses on land use, real estate and urban development. As Executive Director for the Center for Sustainability, Mr. Grayson manages a team leading programs on climate risk and resilience, health and wellness, and building energy and environmental performance. ULI works with members, community leaders, coalition partners, and other key stakeholders to build awareness around sustainability issues in the built environment, and to provide our members with the tools and resources they need to cost-effectively drive sustainability into their projects and operations. Mr. Grayson has over a decade of experience leading energy and sustainability initiatives in real estate, distribution, and supply chain operations. As Sustainability Director at Liberty Property Trust, Mr. Grayson led a 500+ building initiative that included green building construction, energy efficiency retrofits, and sustainability-focused property management strategies and tenant engagement. As Vice President, Social and Environmental Sustainability for the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), Mr. Grayson led a global compliance program working with the electronics supply chain to identify and mitigate environmental and human rights risks in their shared supply chain, as well as programs addressing climate change mitigation. As Sustainability Director at WESCO, Mr. Grayson developed an operational sustainability program that reduced energy, water, and waste, and launched a global marketing initiative for WESCO’s sustainability-focused energy technology products and services. Mr. Grayson holds an MBA and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelors in Environment, Economics, and Politics (EEP) from Claremont McKenna. He is a LEED AP and former Board member of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council and NAREIT Sustainability Advisory Committee.

Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch is a partner and head of the real estate department of the Warsaw office of Greenberg Traurig. Jolanta has more than 30 years of legal experience in real estate, focusing her practice on real estate transactions and financing of real estate projects. She has extensive experience in major transactions concerning office, commercial, and logistic properties and cross-border transactions. Her experience also includes arbitration proceedings in Poland. She represents developers, project financing banks, institutional clients and real estate funds in construction projects in Poland. Described as “market icon” by international rankings, Jolanta has been involved in some of the largest and most complex transactions in Poland and within the CEE region. Jolanta Nowakowska-Zimoch has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in Poland in various legal directories including Chambers Europe and EMEA Legal 500. As an active spokeswoman engaged in promoting gender diversity, Jolanta received the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Award Europe and the Top Woman in Real Estate: Business Management Award. She also participates in the Mentorship Program for Urban Land Institute (ULI) Young Leaders. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Warsaw University. She qualified as an advocate in 1985.

Mr. Timmins is the Chief Investment Officer of the Hines Asia Pacific Region and CEO of Eurasia Region. He serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and is a member of the Hines global Investment Committee. Since joining Hines in 1988, he has been instrumental in leading Hines’ start-up and growth in a number of international markets as well as establishing and deploying development and acquisition funds including the HCR Long Term Hold Fund, Hines India Fund, Hines India Residential Fund, Hines Poland Sustainable Income Fund, and the Hines Russia & Poland Fund. Mr. Timmins’ past experience includes over twenty-five years managing and investing in international markets through his previous role as CEO of the Hines Eurasia Region. Mr. Timmins has experience in developing and investing in office, residential, retail, and logistics projects across numerous Asian and European markets. Mr. Timmins received a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. In 2011, Mr. Timmins was selected as Person of the Year by the commercial real estate community during the Commercial Real Estate Moscow Awards.

Responsible for the strategy and development of Echo Investment. For 15 years he had been with Skanska where he worked as the President for Skanska Commercial Development Europe (CDE) and the head of Skanska Property Poland, a unit within Skanska Commercial Development Europe. Prior to that Nicklas Lindberg had worked with Residential Development in the Nordics. In the 2008- 2015 period he worked for Skanska Russia, as both CFO and CEO. Appointed CEO of Echo Investment in April 2016. He graduated from the University of Lund in 2001.
