What does the building of the future look like? It’s a question answered many times by architects and science fiction novelists alike. However, at no point in human history has the question been more pressing. Less focused on flying cars or pneumatic tubes, the answer needs to address the urgency of the climate emergency – carbon, energy, and Earth’s natural resources. It needs to address the needs of occupants – comfort, productivity, wellness. It needs to address the needs an ever growing and evolving society – adaptability, affordability, connectivity. In a joint presentation by ULI Ottawa and the Canada Green Building Council, our panel of experts will discuss how this array of considerations will inform the future of building design.
