Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI)

Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) Toronto is committed to increasing the number and visibility of women in leadership roles at ULI Toronto and the industry in general, by promoting the value that ULI offers for women in the industry. The Toronto District Council takes on a leadership role with WLI by spotlighting women in our various programs and initiatives.

The mission of WLI Toronto is to:

  • Promote the advancement of women, throughout their careers as leaders within ULI and in the real estate industry
  • Increase the number of women who serve in leadership positions within ULI and in the real estate industry
  • Increase the number of women who are active ULI Full Members and support the development of young women members as leaders in ULI and in their professions
  • Increase the visibility of women leaders within ULI and in the real estate industry

About WLI Global

The Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) was established in 2011 as a global program of the Urban Land Institute. Today it has an active global Steering Committee in addition to 40+ chapters in 8 countries around the world. The global WLI leaders support local programming and initiatives, helping to increase both the number and visibility of more women leaders throughout ULI’s vast network. Annual opportunities shared below can help ULI members realize the WLI mission and improve state of women in the real estate industry.

Get Involved

The mission of the WLI is to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry at the regional level. Members of participating District Councils can reach out to District Council staff to learn how to be more involved in local committees that plan and execute programs, networking opportunities, workshops, tours, mentorships, outreach, and speaking opportunities.
