FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 22, 2015 Toronto – Toronto’s urban landscape is constantly changing as developers work to build bigger and better projects each year. ULI Toronto has found a unique way to provide the public an inside look into the planning and processes behind these developments with their second annual Tour de Toronto cycling tour taking place Sunday May 24.
ULI’s Tour de Toronto will provide cyclists an intimate first look at key developments nearing fruition and an opportunity to experience the city’s rapidly evolving land use story and its strong connection to active transportation, through the eyes of developers and city staff. “This is ULI at its best,” says Richard Joy, Executive Director of ULI Toronto. “Dedicated land use professionals, energized by their passion for the city and the desire to be connected to its development as one of the world’s greatest places to live, work, and play.”
The tour consists of a choice of a 20km or 38km bike ride through the city with stops that highlight some of the city’s best new developments including:
At each location, industry experts will share their knowledge and stories related to planning, developing, and building these places. Tour de Toronto brings together dedicated city builders to interpret the changing landscape of the Toronto waterfront and downtown core, and to provide insight on these changes from one of our city’s most powerful economic lenses – livability,” says ULI Toronto Chair, Robert Spanier. “These projects are helping to shape the present and future of Toronto and these city builders care deeply making a positive impact on our greater community.”
