How can tall buildings be good neighbours?

Too often tall buildings (and in Toronto especially) are frequently thought of as fortress-like dividers that create barriers for the ground below.

In conversation with The Globe and Mail’s Architecture Critic Alex Bozikovic, Studio Gang Founding Principal and Partner Jeanne Gang will discuss her unique approach to designing towers that enhance social connections, contribute meaningfully to public spaces on the ground plane, act as responsible stewards of the natural environment, and resonate equally with those living inside them and those who encounter them from the outside.

Projects discussed will include the St. Regis in downtown Chicago, which creates new public access to the river, One Delisle – the Studio’s first project in Toronto – at Yonge and St. Clair, and Solar Carve in New York, whose form responds to the sun’s path to enable light and fresh air to reach the public green space of the High Line.

Session includes a light breakfast. Please let us know at [email protected] if you have any dietary restrictions.
