Established ten years ago by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Toronto, the Mentorship Program is intended to foster an exchange of professional ideas, friendship and expertise among young professionals and industry veterans in order to enhance the personal and professional growth of both parties. This program matches young professionals (mentees) with experienced professionals (mentors) for guidance and support, while offering mentors an opportunity to strengthen ties with future leaders of the local real estate community and the Urban Land Institute.
The one year program involves three scheduled events, including a kick off matching breakfast, led by the program’s professional coach, Vanessa Judelman . Mentors and mentees meet once a month in order to discuss a variety of topics. Monthly discussions will vary depending on the priorities of the mentor and mentee, but include career management and planning, balancing work and personal life, personal development, resumes and job seeking. Mentors and mentees are also expected to attend a minimum of two industry events together.
Mentees are Under-35 Members of ULI, who have at least two years of work experience in the Real Estate and Land Development industry, and who are looking for the chance to learn from the experience and expertise of a veteran ULI Member.
Mentors are Real Estate and Land Development Industry professionals with 10+ years of experience who want to give back to the industry, and offer a younger professional with wise council, who will guide, encourage and challenge mentees.
